The Department of Haunting Affairs (DOHA) was formally established in the early 2000s with the primary mission of investigating and addressing extraordinary paranormal phenomena and activities within New Zealand. Over the years, the country has witnessed a multitude of paranormal occurrences, prompting the need for such an agency.

 

The core responsibility of DOHA is to deploy its team of seasoned DOHA investigators to locations where reports of supernatural disturbances, often associated with the presence of the undead, have been documented.

 

Each Halloween season, DOHA receives a surge of calls to investigate unusual sightings and to communicate any extraordinary paranormal happenings to the general public. In one recent case, our investigations have unveiled a potent paranormal force at work within the premises of the National Hockey Centre.

 

Historical records suggest that this land, once home to a circus carnival show in the 1950s, brought joy and amusement to the local community, particularly in Albany, the northernmost suburb of Auckland. However, a tragic incident forever altered the course of this location's history. One fateful summer evening, while the circus was in full swing, an unexplained fire erupted, swiftly consuming the entire spectacle, with over a hundred circus workers and spectators tragically losing their lives. This calamity cast a long shadow over the small northernmost suburb of Auckland.

 

The story takes an eerie turn from there. The spirits of those who perished in the circus fire are said to linger, unable to find peace due to the traumatic nature of their demise. These restless entities are believed to harbour malevolent intentions towards the living, with the potential to possess those who venture into the stadium after nightfall.

 

To safeguard the public during the Halloween Trick or Treat event on Saturday, 28th October, DOHA investigators will be strategically stationed on-site. Their role is to ensure the safety and awareness of event attendees and to respond to any peculiar paranormal incidents that may transpire. We strongly advise the public to remain vigilant and promptly report any unusual activities to the DOHA investigators assigned to the area.
